Mixing of the Noisy Voter Model

چکیده
We prove that the noisy voter model mixes extremely fast – in time of O(logn) on any graph with n vertices – for arbitrarily small values of the ‘noise parameter’. We then explain why, as a result, this is an example of a spin system that is always in the ‘high-temperature regime’.

Cutoff for the Noisy Voter Model
Given a continuous time Markov Chain {q(x, y)} on a finite set S, the associated noisy voter model is the continuous time Markov chain on {0,1}S , which evolves in the following way: (1) for each two sites x and y in S, the state at site x changes to the value of the state at site y at rate q(x, y); (2) each site rerandomizes its state at rate 1. We show that if there is a uniform bound on the ...
متن کاملGeneralized voter model dynamics on complex networks
We study a generalization of the voter model on complex networks, focusing on the scaling of mean exit time. Previous work has defined the voter model in terms of an initially chosen node and a randomly chosen neighbor, which makes it difficult to disentangle the effects of the stochastic process itself relative to the network structure. We introduce a process with two steps, one that selects a...

The symmetric exclusion process and the voter model are two interacting particle systems for which a dual finite particle system allows one to characterize its invariant measures. Adding spontaneous births and deaths to the two processes still allows one to use the dual process to obtain information concerning the original process. This paper introduces the noisy voterexclusion process which ge...
متن کاملIs the Voter Model a model for voters?
The voter model has been studied extensively as a paradigmatic opinion dynamics model. However, its ability to model real opinion dynamics has not been addressed. We introduce a noisy voter model (accounting for social influence) with recurrent mobility of agents (as a proxy for social context), where the spatial and population diversity are taken as inputs to the model. We show that the dynami...
